A quick bit of worldbuilding before we dive in:
Sacrimony takes place in a fictional world with its own calendar, so when you see a date like 3115AB, it doesn’t mean we’re heading into anything futuristic, Actually, it’s pretty much the opposite. Think old bones, old faiths, and a very long history weighing on everything. The 3115AB really just means "it's been 3115 years since the world was created by the gods... who are totally great!"
I try not to pin the story to a real-world time period, since that tends to set up expectations that don’t quite hold. If I had to reach for a comparison, though, the closest vibe is probably the Renaissance, which is usually portrayed as more colorful, lively and creative than the grimdark, muddy version of the medieval period in most fantasy series.
So yeah, sit back, set all your tropes and expectations aside and enjoy some really weird worldbuilding!
